After graduating from the Academy of fine arts received the title of artist of painting.
Was born in Moscow. From 1903 to 1917 he studied at the Moscow school of painting. In 1921 he graduated from the St. Petersburg Academy of arts (V. Kozlinsky, D. Kardovsky, O. Braz). In 1922 through Finland he emigrated to France. In 1922 1950 he lived in Paris. From 1928 were exhibited in the salons of the Tuileries, Autumn, National Islands of fine arts. Worked as a theater artist, an Illustrator, painted portraits, Nudes, landscapes and still lifes. The author of the portraits of A. Benois (RM), I. Ivanova, N. Goncharova, S. Lifar. In the 1930 – 1940 he collaborated in the magazines "Illustration", "Plaisir de France". Painted editions of the Houses of high fashion Molyneux, Schiaparelli, Packen. During these years he travelled in Europe, Brazil, Argentina. Personal exhibitions took place in Parisian galleries – de La Chaussee d'antin (1942) and Borghese (1945), the Museum of Chartres (1943). In 1947 exhibition held in Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires. In 1951 – 1960 he lived in the United States, where he held two solo exhibitions in San Francisco (1951 and 1954). In the early 1960s returned to Paris, participated in the exhibition "Russian artists of Paris school" (1962). Was awarded the gold medal of the National Islands of fine arts. In Paris there was a series of memorial exhibitions (1985, 1989, 1993, 1995 and 1997). Works are kept in the Carnavalet Museum and the National library in Paris, HMM the Vatican and the United States, in state Russian Museum and the Hermitage.
