Description of the artwork «Inarnarmun (Great Bird)»

The batik is made of individual tissue fragments connected into a single composition. Painting technique - mixed (cold, hot, nodular batik). The painting is decorated with hand embroidery.

The Great Bird or Inenarmun is a character in the Mordovian mythology. This is a waterfowl, most often a duck.

According to the myth, three goddesses were born from her - Varmava (the Goddess of the wind), Viryava (the Goddess of the forest), Norovava (the Goddess of fertility).

All the characters of the myth are made in an ornamental style, the motifs are taken from the Mordvin embroidery.

The work participated in a lot of significant exhibitions and won awards.
