Alexandra Efimova is an artist from St. Petersburg, who graduated from the "I. E. Repin Academy of Fine Arts" in 2020, majoring in "Painting" (workshop under the direction of Professor H. V. Savkuev. Alexandra is distinguished from her contemporaries by a special language of expression in art, a way of reproducing on canvas or paper this or that information that the author is trying to convey to the viewer. Classical education was not easy for the artist. During the years of studying at the university, she changed two faculties, went on academic leave and already in the third year, began to actively shape her creative path. Trying out various materials, Alexandra tried not to leave figurative painting altogether, although her first exhibition "Images and Textures", shown in St. Petersburg in 2016, was not entirely academic. Since 2017, the Artist has been actively visiting European art residencies, communicating with foreign colleagues and discovering art from a different perspective. With the curator Rebecca Pitchfork, the author still collaborates and maintains a warm relationship.
In 2020, after graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts, Alexandra shows her first independent project at the Erarta Museum of Modern Art in St. Petersburg. The author's painting is called dynamic, experimental, because Alexandra does not make sketches for a long time, but immediately works with the idea that was born in her head. The artist's research topics are social – gender, rare diseases, human influence on the environment, people's relationships. Recently, he has been interested in the topic of human connection, the plasticity of his body and vulnerability. Draws a human – plant parallel. The author is constantly on the move and looking for new ideas. Lives and works in France.
