Pavel Pavlovich Jogin studied at the Academy of fine Arts, where he discovered signs of undoubted talent. During the stay at the Academy in 1857, received a small silver medal in 1859 - a large silver medal. Painter, landscape painter, was born in 1834 in Starodubsky district of the Chernihiv province, died 4 Feb 1885 in St. Petersburg. He first studied at the Chernigov high school, and then entered the Academy of fine Arts, where he discovered signs of undoubted talent and where, in their artistic success have always gone along with his companions: Shishkin, Gina and Jacobi. Even when he was a graduate of the Academy at its annual exhibitions began to appear in his paintings. These types of studies and different localities from the vicinity of Petersburg, Novgorod and Chernigov provinces were forced to assume that the young artist will eventually become a wonderful painter of Russian nature. During his stay at the Academy Gogin received a small (in 1857) and large (in 1858 for the "View oaklets near St. Petersburg"), silver medal. In 1863 he was released from the Academy with the title of the class artist, and in 1868 received the degree of academician of landscape painting. Further artistic activity Jogin, thanks to his weak and unfortunate life circumstances, did not justify the hopes placed on it. In the last years of his life, forced to work exclusively for the stores and in General for the art market, he wrote his painting without sketches, not coping with nature, learned motives and routine practices; however, these things sometimes could see the traces of his talent. He died from cancer in the throat, in perfect poverty. His paintings appeared from 1860 to 1876.
