Description of the artwork «Bread»

After "Bread" Tatiana Yablonskaya could no longer write in the remaining 56 years of his life – and still be a part of the history of Soviet art. You need to clearly present: in 32 years the young artist to become a laureate of the State prize. Stalin! It was the first after a long break the big picture of the artist, whose brilliant and promising career apprenticeship was for 4 years interrupted by the war, and then for another few years – the gradual return to civilian life and to painting.

Life! Life has become in these post-war years, Yablonskaya and for the whole country self-sufficient meaning and absolute truth. And even a 4-metre painting "Bread" seems not enough to shout loudly about this truth. So each image here was supposed to be absolute, sincere, driven to the limit.

"I remember one day, some of clairvoyance, I decided to dramatically increase and slosh it around in the canvas to a huge pile of grain. Wanted bread, for which these people work, sounded in the movie with greater force and joy. In this day and it's the name of the picture - Bread."

But the picture did not come immediately: Tatiana Yablonskaya has done a lot of preliminary work – almost 300 drawings that precede the final idea and composition, the search for exact poses and textures. It all began at all with bored students Yablonskaya that she, a teacher of the art Institute, was sent for practice to the farm.

Come, they say, Tatyana Nilovna, it's very boring – my students - to move us in some farm fun. Everything is work and no one doesn't want to pose. And the farm was illustrious in 1947 they set a record and exceeded all possible plans, for which thundered all over the country. Then, after the war, it was vitally important records that fed people and gave them the opportunity to come to life. And farm them. Lenin in the village of Letava was from such – and Yablonsky did not believe that there can be boring. Went to see and inspire their students. In the end, brought a stack of sketches and almost picture where it will work for another year.

Many of his works and entire periods in the work of a wise, experienced, at the end of life silent and focused, Yablonsky admitted frankly unfortunate and erroneous, but not "Bread":
-When working on the painting "Bread" I tried to convey the awe of life itself, to convey the truth of life. About any self-contained "picturesque", I thought. Remember that time I came to the group Lviv artists led by Grigoriyan. The first had a conversation about "zauzetost" the main character, that I in spirit very like her, and then began to talk "about kolorach and Valero". I remember how to me it then seemed ridiculous, naive and provincial! What does "kolori and Valera"? What else, besides the true image of life? I didn't realize that all in all, the film "Bread" scenic task turned out — the combination of warm grains, blue skirts, white scarves and shirts created the beautiful game.
